Louisiana is rapidly losing its wetland areas.
The struggle to preserve these refuges is not over.

The purpose of the Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges is to provide support by
promoting educational and environmental projects which, without assistance,
could not be accomplished solely through the efforts
of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The Southeast Louisiana Refuges include:
Bayou Sauvage, Big Branch Marsh, Bogue Chitto, Breton,
Delta, Atchafalaya, Bayou Teche and Mandalay Refuges.
