2024 Annual Youth Fishing Rodeo - Bogue Chitto Refuge

We are so excited to bring back the Annual Youth Fishing Rodeo to Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge! This year's Fishing Rodeo is Saturday, June 8th, at the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge - Jim Schmidt Boardwalk and Trailhead (Pearl River Turnaround). All children  4-15 years of age are welcome to register for prizes. Each registered angler will receive one tee shirt, bait, the use of a fishing pole, and the whole family gets lunch. Prizes are given for children's age categories, for categories of fish, as well as overall biggest fish. Registrations received after May 17th will not be guaranteed a tee shirt.

HOW TO REGISTER:  Each angler will need a separate ticket.  Click on the "Angler Registration Ticket" button to purchase and register each angler. Registration is open from April 15th to May 31st or until registration is filled. Registration is $10.00 per child which supports the Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges Inc. Each registered angler will receive a t-shirt, bait, the use of a fishing pole, and the whole family gets lunch (grilled hot dogs, chips, drinks and cookies). Prizes are given for children's age categories, for categories of fish, as well as overall biggest fish. 

Need Extra Tee Shirts?  They can be purchased for $10 each.  Click on the "Extra Tee Shirts" button to purchase and give your shirt size. All tee shirt orders must be in by May 17th.  

Registration is first come first served until it is full. Phone reservations are not taken. Registrations received after May 17th will not be guaranteed a tee shirt. Sunscreen, insect repellent, and lawn chairs recommended.
