The "Living off the Land" workshop is back!

From seeds to leaves, stems to fruits, you can learn how to identify helpful plants from your backyard weed patch. Join volunteer Sandi Wicklund for an afternoon of learning and discovering native plants that can be used for food and medicine. Learn what nature has provided with go-home instructions on how to prepare these items.

This is a discovery only class - no collecting on the refuge, so its rain or shine.

The refuge staff, in conjunction with the Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges, is holding a Service Saturday event at the refuge complex that morning from 8 AM until 11 AM. Why not do both events and make a day of it? Details here:
